I have been an independent designer for over 10 years, previously I was a design agency Creative Director and I have been a full-time graphic and product designer since graduating design college in 1997.

For me, packaging design is marketing through design. It is a highly creative discipline, bringing together the principles of graphic design and three dimensional design.

How my approach will work for your business.

Freelance is probably the best description of how I work, but these days the term is more associated with the gig economy - and packaging design is certainly not something I do as a side-hustle! So, I prefer to think of myself as an independent professional. Essentially, I am a self employed packaging designer and you can hire me to design your packaging like you would hire an architect to design your house.

Just like the architect, who does not build the house, I do not manufacture the packaging. My role is to create great looking package design, from ideas and concepts through to the finished artwork.

As a qualified three dimensional product designer, I can help with the physical shape and form of your packaging. This is particularly useful if you are looking for ideas of how to package your product as well as the visual pack artwork.

And, because successful packaging is a balance between marketing and design, I can also provide helpful advice and guidance to ensure your packaging maximizes its role as ambassador and salesperson for your product.
